Pablo García, a product of the Real Betis Balompié academy, hopes to score against his former club. The 21-year-old forward, now playing for Racing de Santander, expressed his ambition in a radio interview on Monday.

García left Betis in the summer transfer window following a mutual agreement with the club. President Ángel Haro and coach Manuel Pellegrini supported his decision to seek playing time elsewhere. "I hope to score a few goals against Betis," stated the young attacker, who has already debuted and scored for the Cantabrian side.

The departure was a personal choice, though a difficult one for him and his family. He considers Betis the team of his life and does not rule out a possible return in the future. Racing de Santander acquired 50% of his rights in an operation that gives him the starting role he sought.

García was clear about his intentions when facing his former team. "If we have to apologise to the stands, we will, but if we have to score a couple more, we will," he added. His words reflect affection for the club but also the competitiveness of a professional footballer.

While Betis sits third in La Liga with 16 points, García prepares for his new challenge. The Verdiblancos are on a run of four wins and a draw in their last five matches, including the 1-1 draw against Deportivo last matchday.

The academy graduate leaves behind a stage that began at the prebenjamín level. Now, wearing the Racing shirt, he will look to prove his worth even to those who were his fans. His immediate future involves establishing himself in the Segunda División, while Betis continues its fight at the top of the standings.
