Real Betis has announced the signing of Troy Parrott, a 24-year-old Irish striker, on Thursday 20 August 2026. The transfer was completed for €16 million fixed plus €4 million in variables, with a contract until June 2031.

Parrott arrives from AZ Alkmaar after a season in which he scored 31 goals and provided 12 assists, totaling 43 direct contributions in all competitions. In the Irish national team, the striker has 37 caps and 11 goals, and was key in the World Cup qualification playoff with a hat-trick against Hungary.
Integration into the squad
The Verdiblancos have completed the medical in Seville and the player will join Manuel Pellegrini’s training on Friday 21 August at the Luis del Sol Sports City. He is expected to be available for the next league match and to bring a goal-scoring presence to the forward rotation.
Season expectations
With Parrott’s arrival, Betis aims to strengthen its attack ahead of the Champions League. The striker, trained at Belvedere FC and Tottenham Hotspur, is presented as a key piece for Pellegrini’s strategy in the upcoming campaign.
