Abde not in Betis squad
Moroccan winger Abde Ezzalzouli, signed for 13,910,000 €, will not be part of Real Betis’ squad for the league opener against Real Sociedad. Coach Manuel Pellegrini confirmed on Thursday that the player will remain out of the lineup.
Progress in recovery
The recovery plan had progressed in recent days. Abde increased his workload and joined some sessions with the group on a partial basis, but the coaching staff believes he still needs “match sharpness” after more than two months without playing.
Injury details
The injury occurred in early June during a friendly between Morocco and Norway. Abde suffered a mid-grade sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee, preventing him from playing in the World Cup.
Betis takes a cautious approach
The club has chosen not to take risks with one of its most important attacking resources and will wait for the player to complete his return to fitness before returning to the pitch.
