Natan rejects Barcelona rumors and commits to Real Betis Balompié

Brazilian left-back Natan de Souza has categorically denied rumors linking him to a potential move to FC Barcelona. After Tuesday’s training session, the 25-year-old was clear: I have a contract with Betis and I want to be happy here.

Natan joined Betis in 2024 on loan from Napoli, and the club exercised its €10 million buyout option. The defender was Manuel Pellegrini’s most-used player last season, as the team finished 5th in La Liga (46 points, 11W-13D-7L) with a recent form of DDLDL. His current valuation is around €40 million.

The Brazilian, who was evasive but firm, responded to reporters from his car: There’s nothing with Barcelona. My place is here. His statement aligns with Betis’ position, which has not received any formal offers for the player.

With 45 goals scored and 38 conceded (+7 goal difference) last season, Betis’ defense was crucial. Natan, alongside injured players like Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, formed a solid defensive core. His continuity is vital for maintaining stability at the back.

The club, currently 33 points behind league leaders Barcelona, aims to strengthen its squad. However, the priority remains retaining key players like Natan, especially with Aitor Ruibal and Diego Conde sidelined due to injuries.
