Real Betis Balompié negotiating with AZ Alkmaar for Troy Parrott

Real Betis Balompié is in advanced talks with AZ Alkmaar to sign Irish striker Troy Parrott, 24. According to multiple sources, the green-and-white club is looking to strengthen its attack after finishing the 2025 season in 5th place in La Liga with 46 points (11W-13D-7L).

Parrott, with 31 goals in 48 games last season, stands out for his lower salary compared to other candidates like Fabio Silva or Arnaud Kalimuendo. AZ Alkmaar is asking for around €20 million, but Betis must stay within its salary cap.

The Irish international, with 37 caps and 11 goals, joined AZ two years ago from Tottenham for €4 million. He only played 96 minutes for the first team, but in Holland he became a star.

The club aims to finalize the transfer before the new season starts. With Abdessamad Ezzalzouli and Aitor Ruibal injured, Parrott could be key to improving the attack, which scored 45 goals last season.
