Real Betis Balompié and the Pequeño Deseo Foundation have confirmed they will continue their collaboration this season to fulfill the wishes of children with serious illnesses or facing particularly difficult circumstances. The renewed partnership aims to use the power of football to create special moments that improve the emotional well-being of these minors and their families.
The Real Betis Balompié Foundation, the club's social arm, stated that this initiative represents a fresh opportunity to "put Real Betis at the service of those who need it most." For its part, the Pequeño Deseo Foundation, whose mission is "to make the wishes of children with serious or chronic illnesses come true," sees the verdiblanco club as a key ally in generating a positive impact beyond the pitch.
Last season, the partnership allowed several children to have unique experiences linked to Betis. Liam was able to attend a live match for the first time. Jesús and Estrella, along with Rubén, who has spina bifida, and Celeste, got the chance to meet the players and their idol, Joaquín Sánchez. Daniela enjoyed a meeting with the first team, as did sisters Laura and Clara, diagnosed with MED13L syndrome, and Daniel, a young man from Lora del Río with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, who visited the footballers at the Luis del Sol Sports City.
The club will again open the doors of its facilities and bring players closer to share the verdiblanco feeling with those for whom a wish related to the team can become an unforgettable memory. The Real Betis Foundation's activity is structured around areas such as inclusion, education, sport, the environment, and care for vulnerable groups.
As the first team prepares for its next home match against Osasuna, the club's social commitment remains a priority. Betis arrives at this match on a run of three consecutive games unbeaten in La Liga, and sits in a commendable third place with 16 points. The team has scored 12 goals in its first 7 league matches, an average of more than one and a half goals per game. The Pequeño Deseo Foundation, created in 2000, has scientifically demonstrated, through studies with the Complutense University of Madrid and the Pontifical University of Salamanca, how granting a wish contributes to improving emotional state during an illness.
