Real Betis Balompié will discover their first Copa del Rey 26-27 opponent this Monday. The draw will take place at 13:00 in the Luis Aragonés Hall at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas and will be broadcast on Teledeporte.

The four possible opponents for the Verdiblancos are Recreativo de Huelva, Unión Balompédica Lebrijana, CDA Navalcarnero, and Atlético Unión Güímar. These clubs come from preliminary rounds and Betis will be the away side in the single match, scheduled between October 26 and 28. The single-match format favours the lower-division sides, who always play at home.

The Seville-based side is placed in Group 4, which clusters clubs from Andalusia, Extremadura, and the Canary Islands. Sevilla-based contributor Jordi Santamaría said: "El Betis ya conoce el grupo geográfico en el que estará encuadrado en el sorteo de la primera eliminatoria de la Copa del Rey". The group also contains other top-flight sides like Sevilla FC, Getafe, and Rayo Vallecano, plus several from the second tier and lower divisions. The draw will determine the pairings within this territorial block.

The cup competition arrives at a time of strong form for Betis, who sit third in La Liga with 16 points from seven games. The team is on a run of four wins and a draw in their last five matches, including a victory over Real Madrid.

October's schedule is packed, with seven matches across the league, Champions League, and cup. Only two of those will be away: the trip to Celta Vigo in the league and this cup opener. The next fixture is against Osasuna at the Benito Villamarín on October 11, an opponent they did not beat in the last meeting, which ended 1-1. The full schedule is available in our fixtures section.

Betis's aim is to reclaim the trophy they won in 2022, after last season's quarter-final exit to Atlético de Madrid at La Cartuja. Monday's draw will set them on that path. The Verdiblancos have three Copa del Rey titles in their trophy cabinet, the most recent secured two seasons ago.
