Real Betis Balompié and Club Nacional de Fútbol have reached an agreement for the transfer of young Uruguayan striker Gonzalo Petit for six million euros. The Uruguayan striker signs for the Betic team until 2031. Gonzalo Petit has been trained in the lower categories of Club Nacional, making the leap to the first team last season at just 17 years old. The 1.91-meter-tall striker arrives after a successful stint in Club Nacional's first team, scoring nine goals and providing one assist in just 1200 minutes, that is, about 14 complete games. Additionally, Petit is one of the regulars in the Uruguayan under-20 team. The Real Betis pre-season starts next Friday against Córdoba CF, this will be one of the finals that Petit will have to convince Manuel Pellegrini that he already has the level for the elite. The Carmelo player will also have three other finals to surprise Pellegrini against Coventry City, a team from the English second division, led by Chelsea legend Frank Lampard. Another of the rivals will be Sunderland AFC, a team that has recently been promoted to the Premier League and as of today has invested 116 million euros to try to stay in the top category of English football. And finally, Málaga CF will be the last friendly match of Real Betis before starting LaLiga. Petit becomes the fifth signing of Real Betis Balompié this season after the incorporations of Natan, Rodrigo Riquelme, Junior Firpo and Álvaro Valles. The Betic team is looking to strengthen its squad for the next season and Gonzalo Petit is a bet on youth and talent. With his incorporation, Real Betis Balompié is looking to improve its position in the standings and fight for European places. The competition in the team's striker position is getting stronger and Petit will have to prove his worth to earn a spot in the starting eleven. The pre-season will be key for the young Uruguayan striker to adapt to the team and demonstrate his level. Real Betis Balompié is excited to have Gonzalo Petit on its roster and hopes he will be a key player in the next season.
