Real Betis Balompié made a standout appearance on Wednesday, July 1, at the Sant Carles youth football campus, where 35‑year‑old defender Marc Bartra led the morning session and shared his career with dozens of youngsters.

What happened at the campus?

Bartra, signed by the verdiblanco club in the summer of 2025, directed possession drills and shooting exercises at the Camp Municipal de Sant Carles. After training, the kids were invited to approach, take photos and get autographs. The atmosphere turned lively as Bartra answered questions about training with Leo Messi and Neymar, and what life is like for an elite footballer.

Why does it matter for Real Betis Balompié?

Taking part in local initiatives strengthens the club’s image as a promoter of grassroots football. The presence of Bartra, a former FC Barcelona player and current Spanish international, raises the campus profile and demonstrates the squad’s commitment to the Ibiza community. Moreover, the event places Real Betis Balompié among clubs that invest in developing future talent.

Who else was there?

The programme also featured other Ibiza football figures such as Edu Oriol and former player Armando Lozano. Organisers announced that Nolito, Isaac Cuenca and Bartra himself will take part in sessions through Saturday, July 4, ensuring a week full of surprises for the young prospects.

What’s next after the campus?

Organisers hope the experience will motivate the children to keep training and eventually join Real Betis Balompié’s youth ranks. The club said it will assess participants for possible trials in its academies. Meanwhile, Bartra returns to first‑team duties, preparing for the upcoming LaLiga clash against Atlético Madrid on July 12.
