Real Betis has eight days to finalize its squad before the Champions League season, after 21 years of absence. The sporting department, led by Manu Fajardo, has drawn a clear roadmap: reduce the number of players who do not fit Manuel Pellegrini’s plans and create the wage space needed for priority signings.

Clear departures

The most concrete departures are Gonzalo Petit and Iker Losada, two players who are not part of the coach’s strategy. Petit, Uruguayan, has been the subject of several loan options and remains a potential third striker, although Betis already has Natan, Deossa and Antony in the non‑EU category. Losada, Galician, is also looking for a club that will give him minutes and keep him in the First Division; a loan with an option to buy is being considered.

Pablo García is still negotiating with Hull City, which must improve its offer to approach the figure Betis demands. Selling García would generate a significant profit, as he is a product of the Betis academy.

Focus on Deossa

The Colombian midfielder Nelson Deossa is the pivot of the exit strategy. América de México, coached by Guillermo Almada, has requested €13 million to sign him, either in a direct transfer or in a loan with an obligation to buy. With that figure, Betis would recover Deossa’s amortisation and gain a small profit over the price paid last summer. Deossa, who has considered returning to South American football, has yet to receive a formal offer from any club.

Ceballos and Amrabat in focus

The club is also working on acquiring Dani Ceballos, a free agent after terminating his contract with Real Madrid. Ceballos, who has shown willingness to adjust his salary, is considered a key signing for the squad. At the same time, Amrabat, who wants to return to the division, is also on Pellegrini’s radar. The addition of both players will depend on the wage space created by the departures mentioned.

Betis is not looking for a last‑minute revolution, but for a balanced squad for LaLiga, the Cup and the Champions League. The club has until 31 August to close negotiations and secure the signings it needs.
